Supportive Living Coordinator - Deaf Team
Raised in Florida, I attended and graduated from the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. I came from a Puerto Rican family with two parents and a brother who are hearing and two brothers and five nieces and nephews who are all Deaf. Later, I earned a degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. After graduating, I began working with a large agency that supported individuals. I worked in the day program, planned activities and taught American Sign Language for individuals for 5 years. In addition, I have worked in a few residential schools for the Deaf. Over the years I have also had the pleasure of teaching ASL to kids who were in Kindergarten through 12th grade, students at the college level, and to hearing adults who were learning a new language. I am passionate about the Deaf community and passionate about providing the best supports for our individuals so they can grow in their independence and live life to the fullest. I began as a team member for Creative Foundations and was excited to see CF’s passion for supporting individuals too. This led me to accepting the position of Supporting Living Coordinator for the Deaf Team. I am happily married to my husband. We have our four-legged daughter named Tiger. We are also licensed foster parents and look forward to expanding our family soon.
